About me

Currently:

I am a BSc in Mathematics and Physics student at the University of South Africa.

My story:

I've always been a technical listener of music. My ears are always listening, trying to figure out what that particular instrument is or how it is played.

In 2014 I was introduced to the world of music production while visiting my cousin who had an entire studio in his bedroom. I sat there for hours just watching him making beats and my jaw was on the floor. Filled with awe, I could not believe what I was seeing! Seeing my excitement, my cousin offered to install and set up FL Studio for me. This was the longest install I have ever had to sit through, not because the process took long but because I could not wait to get my hands on this piece of software.

Fast forward to 2018, I'm at university and I'm just browsing through YouTube in the campus library. I decide look up music I can listen to while I'm busy with my schoolwork and the results are "24/7 lo-fi hip-hop" live-streams and 1 hour chill lo-fi mixes. I play the live-stream and start working. That technical listener inside of me starts getting interested in what it's hearing. I figure why not download some of these hour long mixes and I'll listen to them on my way to and from my apartment(because I had no Wi-Fi at my place.. sucks I know). This was just the beginning of an obsession.

I would be working on assignments in the library and just hear a song that peeked my interest (more than the other already very good ones) and I'd look up the artists on Instagram.. I liked seeing the people behind the music. One of the earliest songs I loved was "more luv <3" by lordtstxn. I HAD THAT SONG ON REPEAT!

This is just a long way of introducing myself to the internet and sharing my passion with it. I now produce and release my own music inspired by many, many artists that I discover everyday and use their elements to find my own style, which has been an amazing personal experience.
